Free Training:
Teach your patients and clients to be empowered to get the best possible quality health care

This training is open to anyone in Southeast Michigan who wants to teach patients to make a difference in the kind of health care they receive.
Training includes a tool kit that contains an easy-to-use Instructor’s manual and supporting materials.
All are welcome including, Parish/Faith Community Nurses, Faith-Based Organizations’ Lay Workers, Community Outreach Workers, Case Managers, Health Educators, Social Workers, and Social Service Providers.


Approved for 1.5 nursing contact hours.
Henry Ford Macomb Hospital is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Michigan Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Diabetes: Partners in Power
Presented by The InterFaith Health & Hope Coalition, Henry Ford Health System and Health Alliance Plan

In this program, you will: Obtain a basic knowledge to assist members of your congregation regarding the causes and effects of diabetes, and differentiate diabetes myths and facts; Obtain knowledge regarding basic medications used to keep blood sugar in control; Understand the effects of diabetes on the body, especially in relation to functioning of the heart, blood pressure and kidneys; Increase awareness of diabetes nutrition basics and healthy eating; and learn about community and professional resources available.

The target audience includes Parish/Faith Community Nurses, Faith-Based Leaders and Organizations, Lay Workers, Community Outreach Workers, Case Managers, Health Educators, Social Workers, and Social Service Providers.

The program is free of charge and continental breakfast and lunch provided.

CE documentation is in progress.
